Lughnasadh or Lammas is traditionally celebrated on August 1st and marks the first of the harvest sabbat. Historically associated with the Celtic God Lugh who was a cunning warrior and King of the Tuatha De Danann and weilded the Spear of Assal. Lammas was his celebration over his victory over the spirits of Tir na nOg which brought early fruits of harvest and light. Today, Lughnasadh is a time for the community to come together, and share the bounty that the Earth begins to offer. Common activities include baking bread, making corn dollies, harvesting, and tending the garden.
This witchy woodburned wheel of the year is handcrafted to include imagery that invokes the themes of Lughnasadh such as a Highland cow, rainbow corn, scythe, wheat, bread, runes, corn dolly, hops, honey, etc while also including moon phases, astrological symbols, and the sabbath's of the pagan year. Handpained, this wheel of the year also includes sparkly metallic accents which grab the light from across the room. Add this wheel of the year to your space or altar to celebrate the celtic pagan season. Smokecrafted and painted in 8 hours.
