About Yule: Yule was traditionally celebrated by ancient pagan peoples before Christianity and most of the Christmas traditions we are familiar with today originate from Yule. A celebration of the return of the Sun after the longest night of the year, witches and pagans turn their focus to renewal and setting new intentions during the rebirth of the Sun where the days slowly start to grow longer from Yule, December 21st, onwards. Folklore also speaks of the Holly King which represents the darkness and the Sun God or Oak king and their battle.
